“France has long been one of our main partners in the automotive sector and remains a major export market for Türkiye. Looking ahead to 2018 and beyond, we expect accelerated growth and market access for French and European companies” comments Orhan Sabuncu, Chairman of the Turkish Automotive Industry Exporters' Association.

Türkiye produced 1.9 million vehicles units in 2017.

The country ranks 14th among the world's motor vehicle producing countries. Türkiye, which produces 6.8% of all vehicles built in the EU, is the 5th largest car manufacturer and the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in Europe. Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes, Peugeot, Renault or Temsa vehicles are among the most popular on the market.

Its prominence in the sector is also reflected in its exports, which account for 77% of all automotive production. The country relies on a network of suppliers of 4,000 exporting SMEs, 200,000 employees and 200 international investors.
